Affiliate Marketing Programs: Join the Ranks of the Super Affiliates

By Blake Stevenson

Affiliate programs are the perfect way to optimise your website and to subsidise any income. Depending on the amount of work that you are willing to do to maximise your personal sites visitor count, the awards for being an affiliate are boundless.

Through advertisements, emotive language and word of mouth you can create real interest in a website and if that site also carries affiliate advertisements, you could be in line for some substantial financial rewards. Even if you do not fancy investing time into advertising and marketing there is still the opportunity to earn money as an affiliate. Companies do not discriminate over, which sites are more worthy and, which should be dropped. Affiliates pay nothing for the advertising space until they have generated customers through a site. So it is a risk free environment in which all parties are given the opportunity to earn money without the pressure of paying up front.

Some affiliate programs pay you a one off figure for attracting a customer, which is all right for a casual earner. However for the more business minded, regular incomes are also available from affiliate sites. Take online poker sites, this is an industry that is going from strength to strength and growing everyday. Tapping into this hugely lucrative market can give even the smallest affiliate a percentage of the profits. The poker sites usually offer an affiliate a percentage of a poker players lifetime value, taken from games and account top ups. If the player is a high user, in so far as he or she spends a lot of time and money in the poker halls, even just one player can earn a fairly regular income for an affiliate. But imagine for a moment the potential of attracting dozens or hundreds of players through your site, with an affiliate earning 30% of the overall money generated. An affiliate can build an empire running into hundreds of dollars a month if not more.

The opportunities are only limited by an affiliates own work output. By making their personal site popular and attracting hundreds of hits each day, the chances of attracting people to the advertising banners is hugely increased. Therefore promotion of the personal site and the affiliate sites is essential to make the visitors first come to your site, and secondly to make them want to follow your links and sign up. Emotive language and relevant text are usually the most popular ways to attract a new guest. Whilst there is no sure fire guarantee affiliates can certainly improve their odds by first marketing their site and then secondly persuading visitors to follow the banners and join the site. The incentives are there to be taken, all that is required is the will and a little effort to make an affiliate business a success.

3 Baby Steps to Affiliate Marketing Success

Are you thinking about getting involved with affiliate marketing? This article will give you three simple strategies to start your affiliate marketing career off on the right foot.

The key to success in this business is focus and dedication.

1) Stop signing up for every new affiliate program that comes your way - stay focused on one to start with.

If you really want to succeed as an affiliate marketer, then sign up with one reputable affiliate program to start and focus on that one program until it is running smoothly. Refrain from joining every program that comes your way... it's just too overwhelming. Most do it because they think they will make more money but soon discover that they are in fact losing money. That's the wrong way to play the affiliate marketing game, so just start with one program and stay focused.

2) Select and register a domain name

Owning your own domain name is the first step towards building trust with your potential customers, refrain from using free Website & hosting services as they tend to be associated with scams, schemes or amateurs, in the eyes of the average consumer. Try to choose a domain name that is closely related to the product or service that you are promoting, for example if you are promoting cellular phones you might want to register a domain name such as www.cell-phone-site.com or something similar.

Although it is not a proven fact,it is believed that the search engines will give more weight to a website that has the major keywords in the domain name, plus it looks much more impressive and legitimate to a potential customer. The Internet has tons of places where you can register domains for about $7 or $8 per year, simply do a search for "cheap Domain names" and go from there.

3)Time to build a Web Site

If you don't know html, you can use free site building software that helps you build a website even if you no nothing about Website creation . You can build a WebSite using any of the sitebuilders you will find online, but remember to transfer your domain name so that you are not using there free domain name & hosting. They will usually charge about $5 a month for hosting. Owning your own web site is a crucial part to building trust with your visitors and it will also enable you to add unique content which the search engines love.

The more often you update your content the more often the search engines will come back to spider your site which will let them know that your website is fresh and not stagnant, this will help to move your site up the pages of results.

Remember, these three steps are the first steps you will need to follow when starting out in affiliate marketing, all too often an individual will join multiple programs and start submitting the affiliate pages to the search engines (those are the page that have their affiliate ID# on them). The problem with doing that, is that the search engines DO NOT rank affiliate pages well in their search results, so therefore your page will NEVER be seen by anyone. Search engines are able to tell the difference between affiliate pages and originals simply because the URL will have a ? in it or some other tell tale sign.

So, when starting out in affiliate marketing be sure to take your baby steps first.

You Can Make Money On The Internet

What would you say if I told you that it is honestly possible to make really good money on the internet?

I was once very skeptical about whether or not it was at all possible to make any
real money using the internet. I was surfing the web about 3 months ago, and came upon a concept called “affiliate marketing.” I had absolutely no idea what it was, but I was curious. I’d seen some of the websites that belong to some of these affiliate marketers, and was so intrigued, that I purchased one of the packages that I’d been reading about. The site that I ordered from looked a little like a giant infomercial, but I was determined to do this.

It took me about two weeks to actually take the leap, primarily because I was still so skeptical about the whole “make money on the internet” thing. But I figured, why not?
If I were learning to do anything else that was going to make me any money, I’d most likely have to purchase a manual, right? Thinking about it that way made sense to me.

Wanna know what happened? Ok. Here it is;

After ordering and downloading the book to my computer, I combed throught it until about three in the morning. I couldn't put it down. Now, I'm not a techie by any means, but this was so interesting, I just couldn't stop reading. I couldn't wait to put this information to the test. It didn't sound like hard work, though it did sound as though it would be a lot of work...which was okay with me. I could handle a lot of work...I don't much like hard work though.

So, after forcing myself to put this thing down in the wee hours of the morning, I finally went to bed. But the following morning, I was at that computer bright and early, boing through my money making manual step by step, word for word. I didn't immediately start making the kind of money that the site claimed. It took a little time. In the very beginning, I made absolutely no money. After implementing the steps that I found in this manual, the checks started coming. They were small at first...six dollars and fifty cents was the first one. The next was for $25, the one after that was for about $75. After which time, my little checks started multiplying themselves. Seventy five dollars turned into $152, the one after that was for $323, and so on. It seems to have levelled off to the point where I'm now making in the neighborhood of about $6500 per month, but I'm so thankful that I ordered and downloaded that little book.

I was right in my assessment of this process though, in the three months that it's taken me to get to this point, implementing the steps in this book wasn't hard work, though it was definitely a lot of work. But I think of it this way; If I were working for someone else for those 3 months, would I be making anywher near $6500 now? I doubt it very much.

Take a chance. Trust in yourself.
